2012 Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma Search and Rescue Conference

DETAILS: Attendance is free. For those that have attended in the past, the agenda will be much the same as in previous years, with a morning of class and lecture, an afternoon of social time and equipment displays capped off with a flight demonstration, and finally a social hour at the Sonoran Pueblo Officer's club. We hope to even have a briefing from the planners at Davis Monthan AFB about next year’s annual SAREX Angel Thunder which CAP, local SAR Teams, and hopefully the Marines will also be involved in. Inland Search Management for AZ SAR Coordinators
WHEN: April 16-20, 2012. 0730-1700 each day

DETAILS: The class is limited to 24 students. This course is AZPOST credited.
PREREQUISITES: Each participant must
- Have a copy of the 2nd edition of the 'Inland Search Management for AZ SAR Coordinators' manual by April 2, 2012. It must be supplied by the participant's supervisor, and printed double-sided in color.
- Have read and digested Chapters 1-7 of the 'Inland Search Management for AZ SAR Coordinators' manual before the course starts.
- Bring a Windows laptop with
- Charger, extension cord, and power strip.
- Latest versions of Win CASIE III, ICS-SAR, SAR T-Cards, Comm Manager, and Clue Manager installed and running. These can be downloaded from WWW.SARAZ.ORG.
- Bring a thumb drive with name on it.
- Not be on call during the 5 days/nights of the course.
- Secure lodging that is within 30 minutes drive time of the course location. Many hotels are located near the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office.

AZSAR K9CON 2012

DETAILS: This conference is focused on K9s and their handlers, featuring 8 hours of fieldwork for Trailing/Tracking, Area, Building/Vehicle, HRD and Disaster. We will also offer classroom instruction by nationally recognized instructors in the field of K9 SAR. Here is the link to the registration packet. "Space is limited for field classes so it is highly recommended that you send an email reservation as instructed in the packet as soon as you can, you will then have 2 weeks to mail your registration packet with a check to secure your slot in the field class.
